About

I realised it had been almost a year since I had drawn a single thing. My motivation had been smothered by a lifestyle consisting only of work with overtime stacked on top. It had become easier to simply tell my self I would start something soon and dream about it to make my self feel better. Then, whilst searching for things to throw out, I unearthed one of my old sketch books and came across this old drawing of a stag skeleton.

I remembered that I actually really missed drawing, particularly in biro, and quite simply, it got me in the mood for drawing...well...more skeletons. It was time to actively make a change. I couldn't afford to simply just quit my job so I stopped doing over time and, yes, I would have less money to spare but it would give me time to try to rekindle my interest.
So I decided to write this blog as a way to get unbiased views and critiques from people who did not know me, track my progress and keep me motivated. Yes, currently, I only draw skeletons and use biro at the moment but implying life and motivation to a skeleton, with the addition of a few contextual props, has been fun and they do seem to have been providing me with varied much needed practice in a variety of ways. Also I think it gives me an excuse do do a few extinct critters too.

  1. "Implying life and motivation to a skeleton" is a really cool way to put it.

It's sad that we have to build our lives around uninspiring workplaces but it is inspiring to see people like you make room in your life for what you like doing, I'd say you're outputting some amazing stuff so far and the idea is very creative. It's great, not much more to add other than to wish you the best of luck :)
