Each limb is individually hand sculpted. Her head was so small I could not find eyes tinny enough so I had to make some for her out of resin. The tail and ears are hand stitched.
Initially I was concerned her little digitigrade legs would pose problems regarding functionality, the ability to stand in particular. In the end she only required a knee joint redesign from the initial drawing. Now she is fully posable and can easily stand unassisted.
There is no wire in her tail to assist with balance

Wow, seriously impressive stuff. Not sure what else to say other than I'm looking forward to see the improved version. It looks really really good already, some nice poses in the photos as well. I found it quite interesting seeing how you chose to do the pelvis and rib cage joints. Maybe it could be improved a bit, I think I've seen some different ways of connecting legs to the pelvis previously, kinda more to the side rather than at the bottom front of the pelvis. But really, I don't know very much about it at all, I just found myself thinking about this when studying your pictures. Again, it looks amazing and I can imagine that it's really difficult to make it stand properly like you did. Here are those words again: great work and good luck with whatever you wanted to improve!
ReplyDeleteHay you. Thanks so much! I've been taking your comments into consideration whilst building the prototype. I'll be returning to DA with all this stuff soon once I've done my next post. I'd like to link it to Evee. Just don't have the time to be there a frequently as I'd like to be right now. Pffft. Thanks again.
